FYI, it's taken me till now to solve the Ghost Cube, and let me tell you, it makes it easier having the Rubenking stickerset instead of the black stickerset. i think it would have taken me twice as long with black stickerset, cos some of the algorithms i use on the 3x3 wont work on the ghost cos they rotate other bits ...... nightmare!!!! but i've loved it, of course. i'll do a review after i finish this cylinder one that i can now get back to ;)

yeah it was a bit annoying to get an account on twisty forum, they need your whole life story to see if you're eligible!!! took me a while to get verified as well (with the time difference etc.)

The price may be low, but considering it's made by 'bits and pieces' the build quality may be equally low. Beware for Bits and Pieces, some of their puzzles are OK but most are disappointing quality.

The MG remakes seem to be reasonable. The copy I have is a B&P, and is ok. There's a casting seam on it, but that shouldn't put you off if you want to play with the puzzle, rather than own an MG original.

The write up on the the Black obsession on PuzzleMaster implies that it's based on the Black Extreme. I find that very unlikely and is probably an error.

If it is a black v1 obsession, it was based on the black extreme. Otherwise it is new. At least, I think that is right.

True, but the V1 Black Obsessions have been gone a long time. The picture shows an Obsession with a removable core. The V1 Black Obsessions never had that feature. My opinion is that they have V2 Black Obsessions for sale based the second black design which was never made as an Extreme.

I think Chris or Joe could determine which one PuzzleMaster has but they seem a little busy at the moment. Can't imagine why. ;)

I have the Black Obs V1 and it has the Extreme body style and IS indeed the same puzzle that is the 20 Black Exs... only made in plastic.

The Black Obs V2 which is what the Puzzle Master one looks like... came about because of the change of the engineers. MERC designed the Black Obs V2 Puzzle. And the other engineering firm made the other Black Extreme and Black Obs V1. In transferring between firms they lost the Comp Aid Design schematics to that firm.
