Puzzle master
Re: Puzzle master
Any Idea how much tax/ handling fees would be added for an order of about £2000 (GBP) cause i dont want to order and then not be able to afford any aditional charges

Re: Puzzle master
...from my experience, expect to pay VAT on the declared value plus about £10-20 handling fee...

Re: Puzzle master
I think strictly speaking there is VAT (at 20%), import duty which is dependent on what you're importing (apparently puzzles are at 4.7%) and any handling charge the UK side handler charges.
You can use http://www.dutycalculator.com to get an estimate. Using this, £2000 of non-wooden puzzles coming from Canada (assuming it's coming from puzzle master) with ~CA$200 for shipping and £0 for insurance could cost you an additional ~£550 plus any handling fees.
I think this site is pretty accurate as I've just entered the figures for when I bought the set of 51 hanayama from Puzzle Master a few years ago, when corrected from the current VAT rate it gets a figure within a few £ of what I paid.

Re: Puzzle master
It's also interesting that if the final delivery is done through Parcel Force, they send you a letter requesting payment over the phone before they'll deliver it (or send it back if you don't pay in time). If however, it's delivered by DHL then they ship it to you without any mention of extra charges... then a few weeks later just when you think you've got away with it, BAM!, they send you an invoice asking you pay the duty

£2000? What are you buying?
Sounds fantastic to get that much puzzling in one go!

I find that from Canada the postage is the real killer!

Re: Puzzle master
Do not buy the Brass Pyramid! The design is so bad that anyone is going to solve the puzzle under a minute. Not the mention the quality...
