I received my T7 today and it was too easy. I think it had been better if he had made a real on that was harder and that you couldn't configure.

I also want tho old locks: T1, T3, T4, T5 and T6 so please PM me too

What we wish had happened:

Sometime in the development phase of the T7 . . .

Rainer's assistant enters the lab with some deeply troubling news. She hands him a package. It's a blue Revomaze

[Rainer with his face buried in his hands, mumbling]
"And you say they have others?"

"Yes. This is, um, the easy one."

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Rainer tosses the prototype T7 core into a vat of molten brass (thereinafter known only to Rainer's staff as T7a). Six months later he releases a truly awesome T7.

Just wondering, without giving anything away, has anyone else purchased the T7? My feelings are sorta mixed. First, it's a really beautiful piece of work like the other Popplock locks I have. I guess that no matter what I feel about how easy it seemed to solve, it's basically a piece of art. Which gets me to, how easy it was to solve. I get it that the solving wasn't what was in mind when designing the lock. I'll just say that it is an interactive lock that has other possibilities once opened. And that's really awesome. I just feel that it could have had more tricks, something that would have made it more of a challenge initially. Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that I just received the T7 today, and I solved it in less than two minutes
Surely my experience with the blu Revo helped building instinct for solving patterns like these, but I cannot help thinking that the T7 is way too easy as it is (although beatifully crafted).

I applaud the fact you're still trying after months of puzzling! Very admirable!

I think that it also proves that when it comes to amusement and difficulty the price of a puzzle really isn't anything to judge by.

Almost every night just before going to sleep, I spend some minutes looking at the damn thing, trying to figure out what went beyond its design and how I might approach it differently.
I am sure that when I finally open the T6, I will wonder at its simplicity. But for now.... total blank!

Right, now I've had a chance to properly play with the T7 I'm going to go ahead and say that from a design & manufacture point of view I think it is brilliant! Really really good! But as a puzzle, not as good as it has the potential to be.

I think with a few modifications it could've been a much better puzzle, and even though it's not very difficult I certainly don't consider it to be a paperweight.

I reckon I could actually mod it slightly and make it much harder. Don't worry though Ali, I won't.

Just solved the T7, within a matter of minutes....but I agree with Oli and others that the T7 is beautifully made, and I can just
imagine the hours and sweat Rainer must have put in to craft the insides...for something looking so complicated and detailed internally, it's a pity it's not much harder...and I wished Rainer had put in a couple of unexpected twists which is really his trademark, like he has done with his previous models.

But I have no regrets spending the money on it....I think it's a very nice addition to the collection.

Ditto. I think I will keep it since it is so well crafted.

So now all we have to do is wait for a T8
By the way, he often follows an easy puzzle with a much harder one. Pity I shall have to wait many months till he eventually releases a new one...

Between the T6 and T7 there was a period of I think 6-8 months...so probably we would see the T8 sometime in around February to April of 2013??
