Haha! I'm sure Wil was having you on. I've just had a look at my box and I can't see any way of removing the puzzle without cutting or peeling off the tape. Also, the box doesn't appear on the solution card, so I don't think it had anything to do with the puzzle, and when I collected it from allard he went through the little talk that he and Wil gave when handing them out at IPP... the box wasn't mentionedTheJuggler wrote:My Bottle from the exchange is still in it's cardboard box. I think from having talked to Allard that Wil was pulling my leg telling me that part of the puzzle was taking it out of the box (without removing the tape!)

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
Weeks before I found this interesting man called Wil Strijbos, did some research and starts desperately searching for his email address.
BIG MISTAKE!
Received five emails already and has no doubt that my bank account would be destroyed...

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
As I said, hooked...
Well, has money to buy either:
1) Aluminum / Washer Cylinder+Aluminum Cross+Peppermint Twist+(possibly)Tritalon
or:
2) The First Box at the moment.
So any suggestions? I am expecting on high quality, hard, and creative designs that will take me quite some time and thinking (c) to solve, experiencing a lot of fun in the progress. Of course the first option gives me plenty of puzzles to toy with, but if the First Box alone (from what I've heard) is hard and good enough just purchasing it might be fine, too.

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
Given the choice Will I'd much rather have Wil's Cylinders, Cross & Tritalon. The First Box is very nice, but in my opinion not as fun a puzzle as either the first Cylinder or the Tritalon. Oh....and that Peppermint Twist is a real bugger to get back together again!

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
I agree with Oli. While the First Box is good, there appears to be a number of methods of executing the solution... and that just takes the edge off it for me. You'll have a lot of fun with the two cylinders. The first is still my favourite because it requires a bit of skill along with figuring out the solution.
Have you asked Wil about bottle puzzles, bolts, puzzle boxes or Constantine puzzles yet? If not, there's another world of pain for you're wallet :p

Be careful Will! This is the beginning of the slippery slope!!Will wrote:Yep Chris, just sent an email asking about those. Ready to be bankrupt...
Not only will you spend enormous amounts of money on puzzles and accumulate a rather large collection but it will lead you to some rather desperate acts!!!
I am truly awful at opening puzzles! It took me a very long time to do the 2 Strijbos aluminium cylinders, a huge time to open the Opening bat and now I have the Iwahiro cylinder which I also cannot open! So I tried something else to gain more information. Unfortunately I can interpret a chest Xray in seconds (in fact almost all Xrays!!!) but I can't interpret these:
What is a puzzler to do next? I have started to look enviously at the orthopaedic surgeons bone saws!!
