I'm going to jump the gun and guess that there will be no update today.

I must admit that I am getting a bit frustrated. From my unofficial count, we have missed release dates in October, November, and December.

While it is all well and good to get some updates here and there, at this point I feel as though we should receive some official communication from the Revomaze company as to the reasoning for the delay. I do not appreciate that I have to come back here again and again to see if any "news" has popped up. Having all of our email addresses from the paypal transactions, I would imagine that we would all appreciate an email stating the reasoning for the delays and a realistic expectation for a release date.

I know this is harsher than normal attitude on the forums, but going on 6 months of delayed release I am concerned that I will never see this thing. For all I know, Revomaze has packed up and split town and I am well beyond my 45 day paypal transaction dispute. Obviously this is an extreme, but it makes a point.

I know everyone at Revo HQ is overloaded, but more updates are needed and welcome...

Trying to be patient, but the more the puzzle gets delayed, the less patient we will be...

Delays, an impartial veiw from a forum member;

Anyone who collects puzzles eventually begins to buy their puzzles direct from the designer or the designer's preferred manufacturer. For example I am currently on Jerry McFarland's waiting list for a bespoke 6 peice burr puzzle. As well as making puzzles of his own Jerry also makes puzzles for designers such as Bram Cohen/Bill Culter/Brian Young etc. I have no idea when I will get this puzzle only a vague statement of intent. However I am pretty sure it will happen and when it does I will have the oppotunity to own a rare puzzle. This is not an isolated case, I am also currently waiting to aquire 2 Kamei pieces and I may or may not be successful, time will tell.
Revomazes and in particular the Gold are very rare and beautiful puzzles. Why, simply because they are unique, well made, use top quality parts and materials. Furthermore the puzzles are attractive to those puzzlers whom enjoy; twisty, maze, metal, sequential discovery et al.
These puzzles represent extremely good puzzling value, not many puzzles out there can give seasoned puzzler hours of work to solve. Best of all, you have to learn an entirely new way about thinking about these puzzles.

Getting to the delays then... I have bought the boxed set of Revomazes which means that I will recieve my first Extreme revo (not counting the Red) after the Gold release is finished, after the Orange is released, after the hand-made has been released and only once the Titanium Extreme and Obsession have been made for the collector's sets.
In the mean time I will do what a lot of puzzle collectors do when they are waiting for their orders and that is buy other puzzles and enjoy them until the day my revos are ready.

So to those of you who are waiting remember that these puzzles are as good as they are because we have a highly commited designer/manufacturer working to make sure that every puzzle that leaves his hands is to the same high standard. We are paying commercial priced for specialist pieces that rate alongside (or even exceed) the best Japanese Boxes, Burr Puzzles, Twisty Puzzles etc. If I have to wait for these puzzles then I will, not because I can't go anywhere else to get one but because, if you haven't worked it out yourself yet these puzzles are good (or should I say GOOD!). These are landmark puzzles, the competition for what it is worth is just a sideshow, the puzzles are the main event.

Interesting and challenging puzzles are always worth the wait...

To Barcared: You'll never convince me to buy one of those shirts though!

Can you find out what is happening with the Silver SE v2, are they still waiting to be engraved?

There seems to be a bit of a back log of stuff not getting completed, I don't think it is wise that any more products are released for pre-order until these have been shipped. I have the following now waiting, which have all been paid for in full.

May be its time that Chris (or someone who is an employee) comes forward with an announcement or an official statement as to what is going on.

Mhuti, I, and I'm sure others will not dispute that the Revo puzzles are good. I am also aware that for quality one has to sometimes pay the price by waiting.

I do think you are missing the point though, the biggest problem seems to be communication.

As Vonsch wrote, we are relying on updates on the forum written by volunteers who are going out of their way to keep us updated when they are able.

While I fully understand that Chris is overwhelmed with orders and has an awful lot of pressure on him to get these right and get them out, it would be wise to have a statement or update from the company direct; especially since so many deadlines have passed. This will hopefully reassure all the Revo addicts who are anxious for official news and possibly, in turn, take a little heat off Chris et al.
