Interesting as I recognise some of the designers work in there!allardwza wrote:

...aren't some of the items offered on a more general basis after the Christmas distribution round?TheJuggler wrote:Interesting as I recognise some of the designers work in there!allardwza wrote:

Re: Puzzle Collections
Not all the items are Christmas items. Most of the designers make boxes for normal sale, which is where I recognise a few of them from. Regardless, they are all superb pieces and you can be happy to have them in any collection.
Re: Puzzle Collections
Wait, what is this 'Karakuri club"?? Is it just a subscription fee you pay, and you get a few puzzles every Christmas??

Re: Puzzle Collections
I want to start off with a little worship or something of the sort to allard for a puzzle collection of my dreams.
I want to make a second point regarding my small collection of 2 3*3 rubiks cubes, a 2*2 rubiks cube, a 4*4 rubiks cube, the full revomaze obsession set, a bronze revomaze, blue revomaze on it's way, handmade and orange revomazes ordered, and quite the urge to go to Warwick I think allard mentioned.
My 3rd point, without the hope of feeling embarrassed, what is the karakuri club?

Re: Puzzle Collections
I'll need to be persuaded if it were for a price like that for one puzzle a year. Those boxes dont seem too enticing. Revomaze seems alot harder than those, no offense to any karakuri fans.

...I think it's a personal taste-thing - the intricacy of the mechanisms of these boxes is phenomenal, and they're all handmade by a bunch of guys with centuries-old tools - they are little works or art... and quite neat puzzles to boot.Gdamatov77 wrote:I'll need to be persuaded if it were for a price like that for one puzzle a year. [Puzzle-challenge-wise they don't compare to a Revomaze, Thing-of-beauty-wise (at least to this beholder) they're right up there!]

Re: Puzzle Collections
Completely agree Allard. Not to mention pretty much every Christmas present if there are any left when thy go on sale to the public, they are way more expensive than the price you pay as a member.allardwza wrote:

They are all works of art, true talking points around the house, and many of them can be used to store small items, making them useful to boot! I love the work and craftsmanship in each and every one, and while not all are to my taste, I can't argue that the detail is stunning, as well as the fact that they are all functional.
The problem for me is not spending too much on them!
