Solving Revomazes equated to Baseball...

Post by MJShasko »

For the benefit of our sporting audience:

Owning a revomaze is akin to a plate appearance. It is up to you to get on base.
Some get hit by pitch; others simply strike out.
Most make something of the appearance and get to play in the big leagues.
But regardless of your progress or how you play "there is no crying in baseball".

Solving Blue EX is like hitting a single; safe at first.
Solving Blue Obs is also hitting a grounder but you are thrown out at first by a good throw.
Corollary: solving Blue Obs is a walk....not quite a hit.

Solving Green EX is a grounder down the line; safe at second.
Solving Green OBS is a hit up the gap but upon rounding first you get caught stealing second.

Solving Black EX is a hit up the gap and you are safe sliding into second.
Corollary: Black EX is ground-rule double; safe at second.

Solving Black OBS is when you are awarded second on a balk.

Solving Red EX is a double with a throwing error; safe at third.
Corollary: solving Red EX is making to third safely in a run-down.

Solving Bronze is a triple; safe at third.

Solving Silver is hitting an in-the-park-home-run beating the throw at the plate.

Solving Gold will be, of course, a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th.

Solving the series code - an added bonus - your pitcher throws a no hitter.

Making it to the live event would then be the playoffs.
Winning the Penant would be akin to winning a timed event.
Opening Purple: winning the World Series.

i doubt opening purple will be equal to world series. id say it would be owning the entire series urself. im guessing chris is thinkin up some devilish theme for the purple. seeing as it has to be harder than the gold because even gold people wont be able to access the purple. if im not mistaken, its a competition revomaze only. cant wait to hear feedback on the hell spawned from the purple after october. GOLD LEADERBOARD, here i come, eventually!

'looks at leaderboards for 2 minutes, realizes its for only 200 ppl
gets disappointed because there are 250 gold revomazes'

"i am gonna be off the leaderboards. lol.

Purple is the holy grail. It is the world series trophy. It is the culmination of the Series I journey ... the prize of prizes. It could be made of flubber - it would not make a difference to me.

With only 90 minutes allocated to it, I would think it'll be Blue/Green in nature, maybe a trick or two, but something attainable within a reasonable time by any of the 12 or so master revo players who make it to that level.

then y would he make it so simple if u have to go so far to get to it? is it like a relaxation forthose that worked so hard? my understandin was that it should be a test of the final people that managed to make it so far, to see which of those 12 actually is the best. which 2 are the best revomazers are the best in the world.

Simple can be very challenging. The "live" competition needs to conclude within a reseasonable time under the rules and conditions....not days.

A Blue/Green-like revo is solvable in a matter of hours - for most ;)

ive seen a video of someone doing blue within 1 minute. im sure the top 12 can easily do a blue within 1.5 hours. let alone someone else to do the green approximately 1 hour longer probably. simple doesnt always mean easy. i will agree with u on that, but when it comes down to it, if u know what ur doing after practicing for a year or almost 2 really for the really devoted revo'ers, then im pretty sure a simple one like the possibly so called purple, wont be much of a challenge. their biggest challenge will be 5 other people of equal rank doing it sitting right next to them. all 6 of which are hearing clicks. and then u hear someone on tv say, "i did it". that is gonna throw u off BADLY

A minute is slow compared to some of the fastest times on here. I think under 15 seconds is the fastest.

Look at the leaderboards again. There are only 5 places in each region for the Gold in the competition and 40 more positions in the leaderboards which can serve as a sort of backup in the case that people in the competition places can't make it to the competition.

I thought the leaderboards contained 200 for each revomaze and 1000 in total for all of them.

There are also reserved positions in the leader boards as well. Maybe Emma or Chris will chime in and explain them in more detail for us.
