To mattangel1;
I can't enter the competition, I've ordered all of the puzzles available but am yet to recieve any of my puzzles. I have some other blind labyrinth puzzles, which is why I am interested in the ReVomaze series of puzzles and I have seen images and video showing the spindle of a ReVo but I have not yet opened one. I will get started on my ReVos ASAP but probably not in time for the competition. From an engineering point of few there are a number of tricks you could use to make navigation through the maze harder, odd angles, platforms (discs or elipses etc.) with multiple exits at random points, making the pathway narrower, crossroads at oblique angles. I suppose the hardest path would be a totally random computer generated squiggle, you might eventually find your way around but would struggle to repeat the feat. likewise rotating a shaft at a very narrow angle is very tricky, lots of lateral movement with a very small vertical movement. But the whole point of most good puzzles is to engage the puzzler, challenge them and make them seem they have beaten the puzzle maker. I'm sure I will enjoy the Orange puzzle when it arrives on my doorstep and good luck to all those who enter the competition. Personally I'm hoping that the puzzle chosen is a significant challenge.
To Stigy;
I think you are correct, there is a limit to what can be achieved with this type of puzzle in it's current format (shape/size etc.). However Chris has already designed a puzzle 25% harder than the Gold. I'm sure there is scope for a series of puzzles that start from Bronze (80) going up to or beyond the 'Big One' (125+). If this is the case new puzzlers could still engage in the new puzzles by first working through the Obsession range.
Chris has stated that there will only be 500 Gold puzzles. Maybe the focus of new puzzle development will be the plastic puzzles and any new Extreme puzzles will be all limited editions on release. Then again mabye I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time... (or the last!
