The idea that nobody else would be able to purchase any R2 outside of Voyagers until all 10 were released, has always been my understanding, and when questioned it's never been denied explicitly. It's why I get a little frustrated sometimes. I want Revomaze to get new Customers!

Well, I'm here. But there's nothing for me to do/buy. Hopefully Bronze or some such will be made available before I've lost interest and moved on, but that's unclear. And I doubt I'll kick around the multiple years for the R2s to open up to non-voyagers it that's actually the case.

Granted, I'm apparently late to the party. But Revomaze looks to have little interest in welcoming n00bs to the party. It's awesome they are giving so much respect to the people who have stuck around over the years, but I can't help feeling like they're squandering the opportunity to gain new customers. I doubt any of you that have stuck around this long would have been too off-put if the Voyager program had been held back, maybe, 6 months, to let the new interest from Marbles percolate first.

Oh, and what's with the predilection for auctioning off old mazes? Do these things really change hands that infrequently? Has anyone tried setting up a sharing/rotation program with the obsessions, at least? Auctioning them around just makes them spread a lot more slowly. If I could buy a Green for $50+shipping and then resell it for the same, it would be a no-brainer. As it is, I'm going to skip the Green since it should only take 3 hours or so having solved blue, not worth the ~$180+ it would cost new from Marbles or god-knows-what it would cost in silent auction from someone on the forums.

Several of us send puzzles around to others on the forum. It's even easier to meet up with people in your area! Check out the RevoWorld Map. We're everywhere

From your point of view, I'd totally agree with your feeling on not being welcomed. I think the forums welcome you, but like you mentioned, wheres your opportunity to puzzle? To be honest, after silver came out, there have been issues with several platers, machinists, and engineering companies. RevoMaze is currently resolving issues at what I consider to be a fantastic pace! One thing you have in your favor is communication. As the purples finish shipping, the mini's will start rolling out. I think the only thing left after that are the CE's and the R2s. I would imagine production on any remaining CE's would allow HQ to manufacture and release additional core puzzles.

As for the green... worth 180 quid... maybe. Its one of my favorites and im glad I own one. Its the only puzzle that gives you a WTF feeling from turn 2. Its significantly more challenging dexterity and muscle memory wise. The only reason why I'd give blue a higher likability grade is because it was my first and its the original.

Do puzzles really exchange hands that often, yes. it seems to go in waves though. the sales get quiet and then start trickling in until the market almost seems flooded and then suddenly its completely quiet again.

As for passing puzzles around, it happens. Maztec borrowed my Black Extreme. Not sure I'd let anyone else borrow it, but I know others have. If you lived close by and showed that you saw the value in a mint collection, borrowing my green wouldnt be out of the question.

If your looking for Revomaze Green or bronze around 50$ + shipping your asking people to sell you a puzzle with lost money on it so i guess you Will wait long for that Kind of deal :(

On the other hand you could find an obsession for not to much but it might not even come close to 50$ since they are now sold out and we have no indication of new plastic puzzle Will be made

I can say that price shocked me too at first BUT every puzzle i had i didn't loose money when it came to resale
I only kept my favorite and sold the rest

I sure hope people Like you stick around and find what your looking for

Cheers

I guess there's a difference of expectation. I NEVER expect to get back what I put in buying a new toy/car/book/etc. The $50 I just pulled out of the air, so I'll give you that's probably unreasonable. I'll give you the limited editions, as well. But the only way you can resell something for which originals are still being produced at a profit is if the original seller isn't meeting demand. At which point they should be increasing production or increasing cost. It's insane to think I would pay more for a second hand green/bronze than I can buy a new one for.

I like you, you're spelling out my biggest gripes with things that happened.

Here's the thing though, and it's still hard for me to deal with, all of the puzzles have been made in small batches, this lead to many many issues with engineering firms and machining costs. Demand stagnated, so fewer batches got run, and eventually it's not always worth it, or possible, to go and do more runs (due to some licensing problems as I understand, some engineers hold license to certain designs, and when they outgrew Revomaze's business they dropped it instead of made it work, or something along those lines)

Overall, They have maintained their value extremely well. Many have appreciated in value as well. Many (not all) well engineered and maintained mechanical puzzles do.

There was also a point along the lines where a meta puzzle was within the grand scheme, and there was undoubtedly a built-in per puzzle cost associated with that as well. The purple maze is pretty much the only remnant of that meta puzzle, which ended up being drastically different between when they were finally released and when people began collecting aiming to earn it through the meta puzzle.

I will say one thing, while business practice wise I don't agree with many things Revomaze has done, and I have been pretty vocal about those things... I have been treated rather well as a customer of theirs, and it's a big part of why I support them as I do. I gripe because I care =D

I didn't meant to upset you But you raise good point
For i've seen
They are not meeting demand
They did raised their price
And since they raised their price i received more then i paid for mine since i bought them before they raised
I still sold under the price they are asking now and didn't loose money

That explain my last post
