Chris gave me a copy at our last MPP (and I hadn't realised that was the only one around for quite a while until recently - sorry, hadn't meant to keep it secret!).

... mine looks like a standard Obsession except that there's 'something' across the exit hole at the end - that something is the mechanism that requires the 'n' times solve before it will open fully ...

So it looks like an Obsession, feels like an Obsession and has the same maze - you just need to solve it 'n' times before it will open... ;)

Is there a particular point? Ah well, I'll probably get one anyway

Ahhh! Was wondering how it could be so much longer than the original. Didn't seem possible to squeeze that many more paths into it. Sounds kinda cool.

The original idea behind it was to get a better idea of how fast people can open it... so people could have competitions (like we did at MPP4). While some people may get a bit of good luck and open a standard maze in a few seconds, the pro forces you to do it a few times in a row, therefore averaging you times.

So do you reset as normal after you solve or do you have to backtrack and do the maze backwards? Or is there a 'special reset' that takes you back without ACTUALLY resetting?

The idea is quite interesting I won't lie..

I didn't get a chance to have a proper play on the one that Allard has but having seen a glimpse of the extra mechanism I think you just get to the end then reset and do it again. Maybe Allard or Nicole could clarify?

- Sure - you go all the way to the end, but instead of coming out and removing the shaft, you're forced down a new path back to the main reset line (right at what would have been the final piece of the exit) - at least you are the first 'n-1' times - and then on the 'nth' you can pop all the way out...

Hope that makes sense...
