I hadn't seen this optical illusion before today. It's amazing! What do you think?
It's called the checker shadow illusion, and it was made by Edward Adelson of MIT in 1995. Can you tell what the illusion is? The squares labeled A and B are the exact same colour and shade. If you don't believe it, open the picture using Microsoft Paint and move the two squares side by side. I did. Mind blown.
According to the website I saw this on, they "appear to be different based on their proximity to dark tiles and square B’s position within the shadow of the green cylinder."
Wow, unbelievable, I took a piece of paper and cut two holes, so I could only see the 2 squares, and yes A & B are the same !

Print one bigger you say? Beat this:
(Keep watching patiently until1:10, drop jaw at 1:40 even after you see how it works!)
Oh, I have one of these somewhere in my house, bought it a long time ago and the illusion never seemed to work, now I think I must have folded it wrongly.
I will try to find it, must be somewhere among my puzzles, mmmm in a box somewhere.........
