Christmas Puzzles < $1 USD

Post by maztec »

This may be a tall order.

I have opted into my step-father's family's stocking exchange this year. That means I need to get 19 adults and 3 babies something that costs less than $1 each (could be less than $2, but I feel cheap this year) for their stocking. It would be better to give every person something slightly different, but all the same thing is fine also.

So, are there any puzzle I can buy in bulk that fits this bill? Or the closest thing possible (maybe a set of puzzles that I can break up to fit the bill).

Also, any idea of baby friendly puzzles? :p

Well depends what type of puzzle you are looking into. Wire puzzles are cheap, and some are quite fun to work out.

Maybe even a set of these if you spilt it up:

EDIT:

There are some wooden puzzles out there that come in sets. Will begin the search again tomorrow. Its getting late

Thanks guys. A set of 20 wire puzzles for $40 or less would work, as would a set of 20 wood, or 20 cast, or 20 whatever ;)

Try a search for puzzles on Etsy. You can find a whole load of nice little puzzles on there for not very much.

Small rare earth magnets and babies seriously don't mix well. Even if the magnets aren't given to a small child or baby, all they have to do is swallow two of them and it's a recipe for disaster. If they get stuck together with a loop of bowel between them they'll perforate the bowel and develop a life threatening peritonitis. Even if all goes well they need abdominal surgery to remove them. Even teens and young adults have swallowed them by accident since they can be used to look like mouth or nose piercings. They are great fun for those that don't do stupid things but not around kids who often don't know better.

And after that quite depressing public service announcement (which pcad is quite accurate a bout, this is why I do not let my wife keep the magnets in the crib), we now resume our previously scheduled message.

Good tip there Rabbit. I am going to have to do some scouring of the local dollar stores! Nice finds too.

Don't do it :o

It's a slippery slope nearly as bad as puzzles themselves ;)

I've got a couple of thousand of those and it's still not enough

See HERE if you want to see what you can do with them

Didn't think about the small children part of that task. That teaches me to go to bed earlier, rather than reading this forum :P

As for what you can built with them, I just wonder how much you spent on them lol xD Was given a set last xmas, which have become a nice dust magnet
