Ok so I've left this for 24h

T7 does not get any better. The ballpoint pen with a maze that you navigate the ball bearing through takes longer than any configuration you decide on with the T7. That's the truth of it.

There are lots of nice ideas in this lock but not puzzling

After studying the T7 at some length now I can confirm that even if you create the hardest maze inside, you are still looking at a max 2 minute solve! It's beautifully made as you would expect from Rainer but being a Revoer doesn't mean we have an advantage over other puzzle or non puzzle enthusiasts. The lock can be solved in 3 moves from the start in the state in which it arrives!

I would love to keep it in my collection with the other Popplocks but it is truly just a 300€ paperweight!!!

Barcared, that's outrageous that you have a 300 euro paperweight. I know we're all trying to be civil here, but let's face it, those of us who plunked down 300 euro ($360 USD) got ripped off. If it was billed as a commemorative lock for the novice puzzler, we would probably feel like we got what was promised. But given the longstanding reputation of Popplocks as challenging puzzle locks, it was not unreasonable to expect this lock to continue in that tradition. For Rainer to release this $360 lock with such a trivial mechanism is nothing less than a travesty. If you think this is overreacting, consider what the reaction on this forum would be if Chris released a $300+ revomaze that people solved in 2 minutes. IMO, Rainer should give us the option of returning this lock with a full refund.

Funny you should say that... ('cept it was GBP, not USD, and the "replacement" is still wrapped in its original shipping bag unopened)

[Oh, and I'll be keeping my T7 because I like it ... it's not my favourite Popplock, but I like it - I've spent more on simpler puzzles, and wouldn't consider returning them either - don't bother telling me, I know I'm weird! ]

Funny you should say that... ('cept it was GBP, not USD, and the "replacement" is still wrapped in its original shipping bag unopened)

I share the same sentiments as Allard...I will still keep it even though it might be a very very expensive paperweight....for lack of anything else, I guess its the "collectable value" that makes me still want the T7....and of course, aside from the puzzling aspect...the quality of the craftsmanship which has never fallen short for the entire Popplock series.

Now the T7 is in stock at Puzzle Master (if anyone still are interested in this puzzle), but they have added it as a Level 9 puzzle

...think that's a bit of a stretch ... on that sort of scale a blue revo would be about 300!

I know it's extremely subjective, but I've always thought Puzzle Master difficulty ratings do have a tendency to be a bit generalised.
