Juggling Cylinder

Post by TheJuggler »

Ok, Moving this into a thread in the Off Topic, as it's not Revo related, and certainly not General.

The puzzle I've been working on in terms of the Juggling Cylinder is in my mind successful. It's an idea I've been playing with for a while, and have produced a lot of detailed plans, and eventually since I was finished on the clear sleeves made a couple of ugly prototypes to check its feasibility.

The pic below is a work in progress, and there has been no external finishing done, so it's ugly. It's made in multiple pieces, hence the 'home made putty' to fill the gap between pieces which will all be cleaned up for the finished item.

Also note that this was taken just after adding the maple markers so they're not trimmed yet, and still sit proud of the rest of the surface. They'll all be cleaned up and polished as will the outside of the puzzle.

The internal mechanism works as expected and it does not reveal it's secrets easily. Took me about an hour to re-open last week when I lost track of something ;)

As I mentioned, this will probably be available in May to be played with, and I'll see about non wooden versions, but at this point, no idea whether that's even a possibility.

Feel free to discuss :)

..... well it's nothing like that ;)

I wouldn't say too much about it, let it speak for itself ;)

I might not even read the comments on this topic until after MPP10.5, provided I can make it, so as not to spoil it 8-)

After a number of people playing with the Juggling Cylinder over the weekend I got some pretty positive feedback. Thanks to everyone who had a shot, and let me know their thoughts, both positive and negative.
