Hey I though this was a little topic that could get this area started
I from St.Albans very historic Roman city just outside of London
We have more pubs per square mile per person than any where else and the oldest pub in the country, The Fighting Cocks!!
Oliver Cromwell stayed there for a night.
Well there you go I have started lets see what else we get

Re: Where abouts are you from :)
I live in a village called Barnt Green just outside Birmingham, which, as everyone knows, has more miles of canals than Venice!

I am from a small town called Shepshed in leicestershire
Not much goes on here we have about 15 pubs which equals a great pub crawl on boxing day
We were once the largest village in England so im told and we were formally known as sheepshead

My hometown is a small village called Hinchley Wood in Surrey and was recognised as one of the top 50 most boring villages to live in England. Its not where I live now but it's where my Roots are. Our only pub (that was locally renouned for attracting Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife) was knocked down and turned into an old peoples home. It's near to Hampton Court and Kingston Upon Thames. Kingston also has a pub called the Fighting Cocks which is a good little rockers pub. The next nearest village to Hinchley Wood is called Thames Ditton - it is also known as Thames ****.

...am I the only one having a snigger at the thought of Gorby's good lady being knocked down and turned into an old folks home...?

Redditch (nr Birmingham), its near a bunch of cool places like warwick, stratford, solihull etc... not quite so cool itself... probably not worth a visit
Will probably be based in leamington soon(ish) though... was apparently well known for it's spa's and baths (who'd have guessed!)... also apparently the third largest town in the country
